At present one of our key clients, an international group operating in agribusiness and industrial processing, requires a Farm Manager for their operations in Nigeria.

The Farm Manager will be pivotal to the success of a growing 1500 ha Cassava operation, which will be growing to 5000ha.

The Farm Manager must have a background in farming Cassava and strong P&L experience; although this is a commercially run farm, there is a strong social impact focus on the role including organising farmers days, sharing agronomic knowledge to the local community and building community relations.

  • The key responsibilities of the Farm Manager : Ensuring best farming practises are carried out, including correct fertiliser applications Oversee all day to day operations including;
  • harvesting, logistics and quality. Work closely with the maintenance staff ensuring that all equipment, machinery and facilities are kept to an optimum level.

    Oversee seasonal crop rotation. Manage a team of local nationals providing support and training on best practises. Control the budget for the site, liaising with the General Manager ensuring that all figures are correct and accurate.

    Experience of managing large P&L farming operations will be essential At least 5 years of experience in a farm management / supervision role At least 5 years experience in growing cassava Proven experience of the African marketplace and development of farming operations.
