Goal : To assist in preparing and maintaining, through support, education, and auditing, a high level of Compliance, Compassion, and Care in all Health and Wellness Areas of the ODLE / Eckerd contracted Job Corps Centers.

Monitoring, identifying, and detecting, areas of possible concern or issues in the centers’ H&W and disability programs, while training, advising, and assisting as needed for the best resolutions of problems and concerns.

Helping to ensure regulatory compliance not only for the DOL requirements and Job Corps Policy Requirement Handbook, but also for the state, federal, and local regulations / requirements for all scopes of practices within the Health and Wellness Department.

    Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Demonstrates and abides by ODLE / Eckerd Core Values and operating principles.
  • Constantly reinforce the Odle Health and Wellness motto of TRAVEL TRAINING TEAMWORK
  • Works with all areas of the Corporate Team in collaboration for the ultimate compliance and success of the Odle / Eckerd centers.
  • Supports the Health and Wellness Directors in planning, implementing, and evaluating an efficient wellness program consistent with the students' needs, corporate goals and objectives while meeting the contracted requirements per all the DOL guidelines, Job Corps Policy Requirement Handbook (PRH), notices, and bulletins, and also Corporate and Center policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Performs duties under the supervision of the Corporate Health & Wellness & Disability Operation’s Manager.
  • Travels to centers for onsite trainings, inspections, assessments, orientations, transitions, support.
  • Develops trip reports to document the center visits in a timely fashion.
  • Covers for the Health and Wellness Director on a center as needed due to vacancies.
  • Continually reviews and monitors materials, guidelines, requirements, trainings, local laws, etc. that are needed for keeping all Odle / Eckerd centers in compliance for all Health and Wellness areas.
  • Attends monthly Humanitas’ calls and trainings in all areas that are pertinent to the Health and Wellness centers compliance and success.
  • Preparing agendas or trainings for Monthly HWD calls. Including all areas of Health and Wellness nursing, TEAP, Mental Health, Physician and Dentist
  • Assist in planning and presenting the Odle yearly summit for Health and Wellness
  • Provide continual support and training for the center Health and Wellness Directors to work toward meeting Corporate and Center, performance management standards, requirements, and goals.
  • Maintains current nursing license and knowledge in CPR and First Aid
  • Constantly, monitor's areas of responsibility to ensure timely and high-quality services are in place and continue to be in place.
  • Utilize the UAP as possible for monitoring.

  • Assist the Health and Wellness team as needed with participation in required PRH staff training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience Requirements :

  • State Registered Compact Nurse’s License and one year’s experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
  • Active, unrestricted compact license to practice in states where O / E centers are located.
  • Job Corps experience working in the Health and Wellness Department with adolescents and young adults.
  • Valid State driver’s license in the state of employment with acceptable driving record.
  • Additional Requirements : Knowledge of nursing practices / procedures. Good organizational skills. Ability to carry out instructions with minimal supervision.

    Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to communicate effectively and relate to trainee population.

    Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.

    Working Conditions : Travel by air and by car. This position could involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and squatting.

    Moving from place to place with times of standing. Applicant must be able to see, hear, and speak.

  • Environmental Demands : Position requires ability to spend 10% - 15% of work time outside and 85% - 90% of work time indoors;
  • ability to withstand moderate noise levels, including voice levels 90% of work time; ability to work in high temperature settings during the summer months;
  • and ability to work in low temperature settings in winter months.
