The Portfolio Manager, also known as the Fund / Investment Manager, is a member of the Investment team responsible for creating and managing investment portfolios for the clients of FSDH Asset Management.
Detailed Duties & Responsibilities
Manage mutual fund and private client portfolios in line with the portfolio investment objectives, risk appetite and needs.
Deliver strong return performance within portfolio guidelines, risk limits and regulations.
Research and analyse investment opportunities and consider market conditions and economic trends to select the best assets for client portfolios.
Ensure investment decisions and portfolios are managed in line with their governing documentation, internal policies, and relevant regulation.
Formulate and contribute to investment strategy for the Funds through participation in the Fund Investment committee, portfolio review meetings and client meetings.
Work closely with product specialists and relationship managers to provide client-centric and competitive fund products.
Compile and present reports on investment performance and activity to relevant stakeholders.
Manage junior team members, including research analysts, for investment recommendations, reporting and analysis.
Research, assess and present portfolio investment actions for approval.
Monitor portfolio performance against set benchmarks / targets.
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related fields.
Relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
Minimum of CFA Level 2.
At least 8 years of Investment management experience including 5+ as a Portfolio or Investment manager in an Asset Management company or Pension Fund Administrator (PFA)
Deep knowledge of equity, fixed income and money markets and asset classes at a minimum.
Portfolio and Investment risk knowledge and experience in the management of risks- ability to calculate portfolio risk metrics and manage portfolio risks within approved limits
