The Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, Nigeria (PEVCA) is the industry and advocacy body promoting private equity and venture capital in Nigeria.

As the Executive Secretary, you will be the face of PEVCA. Also, you will provide high-level administrative support to the PEVCA Board and Members such as conducting research, managing data and reports and ensuring smooth day to day operations of PEVCA, among others.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate strategic initiatives for the achievement of PEVCA's objectives
  • Facilitate and manage fundraising activities with support from the PEVCA Board
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the other African and relevant global Private Equity and Venture Capital Associations
  • Actively manage Association’s relationships with ecosystem stakeholders including regulators, investors, and complementary organisations
  • Develop plans for and cascade communication of the Association's strategy, priorities and objectives to all members
  • Ensure alignment of strategies with the Association's global strategy
  • Ensure administrative and financial management of the Association to achieve its objectives
  • Responsible for PEVCA’s governance function and organizing Board meetings
  • Supervise the timelines and progress of constituted PEVCA Committees
  • Maintain and service the PEVCA membership base as well as onboard new members
  • Manage member events, training courses and related PEVCA projects
  • Circulate industry information to members, stakeholders and where relevant, the public
  • Initiate and coordinate PEVCA’s research, conferences, training, surveys and publications
  • Meet with individuals, special interest groups and others on behalf of executives, committees and Board
  • Keep the Board abreast of current events, information and the climate within the organisation and venture capital industry
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the PEVCA Board
  • Education, Qualifications and Experience :

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance (preferred) or related field
  • Certificates in Business Administration, Finance or Management
  • Minimum of five (5) years work experience with at least two (2) as a Manager or Project Manager responsible for significant financial and operational deliverables
  • Minimum of three (3) years in an executive role managing all aspects of an organisation
  • Skills and Competencies :

  • Strong interest in developing the venture capital and private equity sector
  • Strong marketing, negotiating and fundraising skills
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Experience in managing and reporting financial matters
  • Strong interpersonal skills at management level
  • Ability to manage a diverse team (internal) and partner relationships (external)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Integrity, autonomy, self-confidence, and energy
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial approach
  • Methodical thinker with detailed research proficiencies
  • Strong knowledge of databases and tracking systems
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

  • Foster awareness and knowledge development of the asset class through research, trainings, capacity building initiatives.
  • Host networking events and other industry themed functions.
  • Promote alignment towards best ethical and investment practices.
  • PEVCA is currently governed by a 7-person Board of directors.
