Job Summary
As a technical sales engineer, you'll use your technical knowledge along with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products, for which a certain level of expertise is needed.
Responsibilities
As a technical sales engineer, you'll need to :
Search for new clients who might benefit from company products or services (Heavy-duty equipment e.g trucks) and maximise client potential in designated regions
Develop long-term relationships with clients, by managing and interpreting their requirements
persuade clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
Calculate client quotations and administer client accounts
Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
Work on after-sales support services and provide technical backup as required
Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needs
Oversees the daily workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the equipment.
Inspects and performs maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities.
Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
Requirements
Education and Experience :
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
Previous experience managing the company's equipment and technical sales.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment.
Ability to maintain basic records and warranties.
Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
Scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure that equipment is in good working condition at all times
Inspecting equipment to make sure that it meets safety regulations and standards of quality
