Our client is one of the largest ship management organisations providing management services to the international shipping and offshore industries.
Your New Role
Mainly to oversee the Nigeria office & its business management & technical
The business is the operation & maintenance of offshore oil production platforms (MOPU / FSO / FPSO / Well head platforms).
Business development / commercial work is not needed for Country Manager as it is mainly handled from the HQ in overseas.
Country Manager focus only on technical operation & general country-level business management.
Operations will be mainly at sites in Lagos (office) & Port Harcourt (offshore)
Main type of vessels overseeing : FSO / FPSO / MOPU. Vessels are owned by clients.
Coordinate, manage and monitor the working of assigned staff in the organization.
Manage employees based in Nigeria
Meet regularly with clients and other stakeholders to discuss operational performance of managed assets.
Provide liaison between clients and the marine / technical departments in offices in other locations.
Communicate with local regulatory authorities, flag state, classification society and other local entities regarding the operation of managed vessels and assets.
Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals and monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
Delegate tasks and accountabilities, establish work schedule, supervise staff and monitor and evaluate staff performance.
Manage maintenance of assets, vessels, equipment, machinery and procurement of spares. Provide technical support where necessary.
Assist with management and support of staff from other offices when visiting Nigeria.
Ensure execution of the work scopes in accordance with the agreed contractual terms.
Facilitate coordination between support functions.
Review financial statements and data.
Utilize financial data to improve budget performance.
Assist with preparation and control of operational budgets.
Is This for You?
To be successful in this role you will need;
Technical engineering background with proven track record of managing teams in the Oil & Gas industry (best with Engineering degree & more than 5 years management experience).
Experience of working with oil producing vessels (MOPU / FPSO / FPO), and working knowledge of Offshore Services Vessels (OSV) operations.
Country management expertise in Nigeria / West Africa region (more for technical operational performance than business development / commercial).
General knowledge of business and management principles and practices.
General knowledge of financial and accounting practices.
Basic information technology skills.
