About Us

Isidore is a digital platform for Agri-SMEs (e.g. suppliers of grains) & Agro Buyers (e.g. Feed mills, FMCGS) that enables purchase order management and facilitates access to working capital, for all in the value chain.

Through our Jinja platform, we provide a free mobile-first ERP tool focused on purchase order fulfillment with embedded access to capital.

We also extend payables on behalf of Agro Buyers thereby reducing their need for corporate financing.

What we're looking for

You will help to solve analytical problems across the organization and grow profitability by maintaining a keen eye on risk assessment.

You will make data-driven decisions to optimize the performance of our portfolio and contribute to our risk strategy. This role will report directly to the Co-Founder.

You must be a reliable, analytical and hard-working individual, interacting with both our internal teams as well as clients.

You are obsessed with numbers, a good communicator, self-motivated, a natural problem solver, and have a passion for fintech.

Our ideal candidate will also have or be looking to gain experience working in an African startup - preferably fintech or agritech.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests, including new requests, changed requests, refinancing and due diligence
  • Provide recommendations tied to analysis and assessment of credit risk
  • Present analysis, findings, and recommendations to managers, especially findings that involve a borrower’s ability to repay
  • Contribute to, and comply with the company’s lending protocols
  • Reconcile credit files and identify discrepancies and variances
  • Develop and prepare spreadsheets and models to support analysis of new and existing credit applications
  • Analyze client records and use the data to recommend payment plans
  • Confer with credit associations and references to exchange credit information on clients
  • Evaluate the financial status of clients by producing financial ratios through computer programs
  • Helping sales, operations and support departments in managing financial orders to help them control credit exposure, make payments on time, and reduce the risk of customer disputes
  • Confer with clients to verify their financial / credit transactions and to resolve their complaints
  • Assist clients with information required to build healthy credit scores and improve their risk framework
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields
  • Two to five years of strong quantitative experience
  • Prior experience in invoice ageing, purchase order analysis is a huge plus
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and other data analysis tools e.g. SQL
  • Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment, with varying degrees of supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data
  • Impeccable understanding of financial statements, ratios, and concepts
