Mission description

Our subsidiary in Lagos is looking for an HR Manager to enhance and / or maintain the current HR processes and policies (e.

g. Recruitment, Induction, Performance Management, Disciplinary process.).

  • To advise managers on HR related issues and assist where necessary with certain related deliverables.
  • To identify and develop appropriate organizational development interventions e.g. team effectiveness.
  • To run key HR initiatives in line with the business strategy, from inception to completion.
  • To provide a confidential counseling service to managers and staff.
  • Establish, maintain and review development programs for individuals and team performance (with approval from N+1)
  • Ensure compliance to statutory requirements.
  • Ensure that the strategy of the company and the welfare of its employees is balanced.
  • Manage and oversee the full recruitment exercise from the recruitment request received from managers to engagement
  • Ensure documentation and files are kept updated
  • Conduct survey and advise salary benchmarks
  • Conduct interviews at all levels with the managers
  • Manage relations with outsourcing agencies. Carry out regular supplier review (at least annually) to ensure that they deliver in accordance with the scope of work and KPI signed.
  • Ensure the employee on-boarding process is in line with Group rules and best practice
  • Assist Payroll Manager with statistics for reporting purposes
  • Liaise with universities and establish relevant partnerships for head hunt and internship
  • Oversee the training function within the HR department
  • Ensure that the performance appraisal process is followed by all the managers and collect all the appraisals in due time.
  • To act as the focal point for all Union related manners, including but not limited to Union negotiations and CBA negotiations
  • To offer HR support and advice to management and staff to ensure the enhancement of both employee engagement and performance levels.
  • Provide guidance and support when dealing with poor performance.
  • Ability to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the organization in the resolution of HR issues.
  • Participation to all disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Contribute to the implementation / monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation and contemporary HR management practices
  • Oversee employee engagement, termination, promotions, increase; leave administration processes with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Appoint roles and responsibilities, establish country organization
  • Define & Implement HR policy in line with the Business & Corporate Needs for validation by country management
  • Review procedures and changes to HR policies in line with changes in legislation and practices
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Identify and Initiate HR development needs, plan and strategies (with the approval of N+1)
  • Liaise with Finance on payroll management on HR Analysis.
  • Profile

  • University Degree / Equivalent in Human Resources or Related Fields
  • Postgraduate qualification an added advantage
  • Human Resources Practitioner Certification (Compulsory) i.e. Professional level of membership in Human Resources e.g. ACIPM etc.
  • Must have 10 years work experience in related field in a multinational organization, 8 of which are at Managerial level.
  • Must have well developed knowledge of and experience in the application of HR procedures and practices.
  • Negotiation and Decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record in developing HR strategies in line with Company's objectives
