  • As a Transaction Advisory specialist in our Business Advisory team, you will oversee origination and management of advisory-related mandates, assessing clients' needs for Transaction Advisory, addressing special needs if any, and suggesting / designing appropriate advisory services profitably.
  • You will alsobe responsible for technical advisory services to business and government sector clients, managing transactions, and sharing key knowledge and learning outcomes with the department.
  • Duties / Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Transaction Advisory Activities by providing proven technical expertise on corporate and government sector projects cycle activities leading to commercial and financial close and beyond.
  • Provide technical advisory services in the formulation and upgrading of clients' requirements and projects, project management, risk & oversight management function, etc.
  • Originate and manage transaction advisory services, conduct meetings on mandates and capacity building for clients as part fulfilling mandate requirements.
  • Source mandates from various sources, clouts, media, government gazettes and other client network and make appropriate recommendations profitably;
  • and ensure that transactions and in line with all relevant TOR, and best management practices.

  • Screen applications for transaction advisory services and develop proposals in line with the potential mandate requirements to enable origination.
  • Work as part of a team or lead key activities as part of progressing transaction across all sectors.
  • Develop and implement a framework and operating guidelines for technical advisory function, lead discussions with clients and maintain advisory mandates quality and overall health of clientele portfolio.
  • Be the resourceperson on all specialist transaction advisory matters and provide profitable advise to government and business clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, and coordinate activities with other segments of the Group to ensure achievement of strategic objectives of the Unit.
  • Interact with business segments, divisions, and departments to ensure compliance in all aspects of advisory function.
  • Undertake assessment of clientele listings for mandates effectiveness, identify any gaps and design standalone mandate sourcing plan for consultancy services.
  • Undertake sector specific appraisals to evaluate potential advisory mandates and generate transactions thereof.
  • Work as part of a team or lead the provision of Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) on Unit-supported through to commercial and financial close.
  • Work within a team to coordinate resources that support delivery of advisory transactions.
  • Lead capacity building sessions and other areas of developing Unit manpower.
  • Serve as resource person to represent the Unit on Group capacity development programmes.

  • Requirements

  • Hold At least a Master's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Law, Project Management, Project or Development Finance or a related discipline Certificates and / or Licenses
  • Have 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in advisory, infrastructure development, development and management of PPP infrastructure projects, transaction structuring, project finance and other related areas.
  • Relevant professional certifications, Project Management, Project Finance, and Advance Financial and Risk Analysis. Knowledge of Corporate Governance and negotiation skills are desirable.
  • Proven experience in transaction advisory and in Infrastructure sector with sound success
  • Proven experience on project management, transaction structuring, government sector advisory on policies, programs and projects is desirable.
  • Experience working in investment bank, consulting, audit firms, Development Finance Institution, or international development agency will be an added advantage.
  • Strong project management experience to schedule and budget and ability to produce plans
  • Robust analytical skills and the ability to write and produce high quality technical reports.
  • A demonstrated understanding of local and international economies and the African context is highly required. Strong operational experience and ability to contribute to strategic thinking and to integrate strategies and policies into programs / projects
