In this position, you will be taking on designs during the final stages of development for projects targeting all aspects of Pura Vida Bracelet’s business, including social media, visual web design, email design, packaging and promotional material development.

To be successful in this position, you should combine strong layout and technical skills to format various images and illustrations, and most importantly guarantee you are meeting the stakeholders’ requirements.

Ultimately, you will ensure our print and digital designs meet high quality standards.

This self-motivated team player will have a collaborative spirit, take initiative, a keen eye for detail, be efficient & process-oriented, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced (but fun), idea-generating environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with Creative Director, team of designers, product managers, and external vendors to define design requirements
  • Oversee and guide work of intermediate production artists before final presentation and hand-off to Creative Director or internal / external clients
  • Translate visual concepts developed by the design team into various implementations for use in digital, print, and packaging formats
  • Establish and update branded templates for certain assets
  • Review graphics, layouts and fonts before products are completed
  • Finalize designs using image editing software
  • Retouch images to improve quality both in print and digital formats
  • Suggest and apply image improvements, e.g. creating gradients, adjust colors, build additional content to imagery and organize layers
  • Manage pre-press process for print files
  • Provide approvals for final files on behalf of Creative Director in times of need if all predetermined requirements are met
  • Meet deadlines to ensure timely publications
  • Establish and maintain calendar of seasonal assets that require intricate file preparation
  • Archive produced images and graphics
  • Follow up with stakeholders and accounts to ensure their requirements are met
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in graphic design techniques and software
  • Resize graphics for various needs
  • Establish file organization system of files in server
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 -7 years of proven work experience as a Production Artist, Graphic Designer or similar role
  • BS degree in Visual Arts or relevant field
  • Additional qualification in Graphic Design is a plus
  • Portfolio of completed graphic designs and creative projects
  • Solid knowledge of the printing process and preflighting tools (e.g. Adobe InDesign)
  • Hands-on experience with graphic design software and image editing tools (e.g. Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator)
  • Photo retouching experience is mandatory
  • Strong foundational design and layout skills are a must
  • An ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Creativity skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Understand how to set up working file layers correctly
  • Understand how to work with dielines
  • Collaborative energy, takes extra initiative, has a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate to intermediate production artists the needs of a project
  • Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • TOOLS, ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

    Office environment. Utilizing a computer over 75% of time; Utilizing an office desk sitting, reading, listening, or speaking with the ability to move intermittently throughout the day.

    May work daily with :

  • Apple desktop or laptop computers
  • iPads
  • Smart phones (primarily iPhones) May occasionally involve working with :
  • Digital Cameras
  • May require lifting 10lbs
  • Printers
  • X-Acto or box-cutter blades and cutting mats
  • Odorous materials including : paint, paint markers, spray adhesives May require occasional travel with use of valid license / U.
  • S. Passport Optional use of personal social media account to act as a brand advocate
