About Company : Our client is one of the leading Fashion Retail Chain in Nigeria with over 20 outlets across major cities in Nigeria, that partners with top fashion brands to deliver high-end fashion and lifestyle products and experiences to Nigerians.

Job Summary : The company is seeking to hire an HR Manager who would be responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of best practice HR policies, procedures, and programmes in alignment with organizational objectives and goals.

  • S / he would manage the Human Resources and Administrative functions of the business.
  • As the Human Resource Manager, you will be accountable for the full front-line support through a team on the HR lifecycle, learning and administration.

    S / he will manage a team HR Advisors, to ensure HR administrative processes are delivered effectively, legally compliant and serve the needs of the business.

    Also, you will also be responsible for providing open and positive communication with all members of staff on all human resources-related matters.

    Key Responsibilities :

    A. Human Resources

  • Partners with the Head of HR to develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization.
  • Translates business strategy and objectives into goals and plans that are aligned with business imperatives and the organization’s Mission, Vison, Aspiration and Values.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Ensures all direct reports work collaboratively with the team and regional retail store teams on recruitment, employee relations issues, corrective action and performance management needs.
  • Supports current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organizations compliance.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures.
  • Annually updates and implements all HR policies, procedures and programmes.
  • Bridges management and employee relations gaps by ensuring demands, grievances or other issues are adequately addressed.
  • Nurtures a positive working environment.
  • Provides guidance for managing all HR-related functions to HR Officers.
  • Advises, challenges and supports the senior management on HR related matters, based on high ethical standards
  • Coaches senior management team in the application of company values and culture in their teams.
  • Provides decision making and strategic support to Line Manager and Executive Management team through HR metrics.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by Line Manager on all personnel matters.
  • Constantly identifies opportunities where HR can support business objectives and drive tactical HR partnerships with other departments.
  • Drives, challenge and support senior management team in change management, employee engagement, organizational, culture and people development
  • initiatives.
  • Provides proactive leadership and creative insights to clarify and resolve complex business HR issues.
  • Actively participates in company-wide projects and HR projects.
  • B. Corporate Affairs

  • Closely monitors the reputation and positive image of the company.
  • Ensures complete spectrum of the employee life experience from the recruitment and selection process effectively communicates the company’s positive
  • image.
  • Provides strategic communication advice.
  • Develops communication plans, press releases and organising press conferences when required on all employee-related issues.
  • Champions the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility direction.
  • C. Team Management and Development

  • Sets an excellent standard in maintaining and building upon company values and culture.
  • Effectively communicates the company and departmental objectives and standards of performance to all direct reports.
  • Develops the Human Resources & Administration team by creating an inspiring team environment fostering engagement and high performance.
  • Inspires the Team members to achieve set standards and business objectives.
  • Establishes training and development programs for all HR Officers and develop strategies to ensure there is continuous learning on the job.
  • Ensures all HR Officers are versatile in different aspects of Human Resource Management.
  • Reviews all inputs from direct reports which are sent to the Head of HR.
  • D. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Minimum of a Masters’ degree or its equivalent in Human Resource Management or a relevant field.

    At least 10 years work experience and a minimum of 5 years managing & leading a high-performance team.

    HR related professional qualification (such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM etc)

    Quality experience in Human Resources, Administrative and Compliance / Legal functions.

    Experience in building and implementing HR strategies and initiatives to scale up a company.

    Experience developing and implementing HR processes, such as staff handbooks, employee surveys, performance evaluations, employee inductions, etc.

    Negotiation and Arbitration skills.

    Leadership and supervisory skills.

    Strong minutes and organization skills.

    Ability to oversee processes, guide initiatives, lead the team and delegate effectively.

    Understand different cultural values, beliefs and perception.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities.

    Ability to proffer solutions to business situations.

    Fashion Forward.

    Good Knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office.

    Ability to work independently, anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction.

    Pays attention to detail.

    Strong analytical skills with a high level of integrity.
