We are looking for a senior data engineer to lead the architecture / design and implementation of a new, very innovative project (that’s in the process of receiving funding).

We’re starting the build of this new project from scratch, and it will be a standalone application running on a new platform, different from our other applications.

Responsibilities

Work with the CTO / cofounder and Head of Engineering to architect this solution

Be the team lead for 2 junior / medior engineers (incl. Reviewing of work of the others)

Program the application yourself

Main requirements

At least 3 years of Python development experience

Having at least 7 years of experience as an engineer

Having been in a lead position in a development team, where you’re at least coaching a few other developers

One of the main challenges for this application will be the requirement to process massive amounts of data quickly. We’re talking about 10’s of millions of records that need processing a day.

We’re looking at Google Cloud technologies to help support this. Experience with handling large volumes of data and Google Cloud would be huge plusses.

The application will have to make decisions that could be powered by machine learning. Knowledge of the (explainable) machine learning / AI space would be a huge plus.
