Project title : New Methods of Teacher Training, Competence-based Curricula and Testing Developed for the Technical Education and Vocational Training (TVET) in the Agriculture and Agri-value-chain Sector
Brief description :
The purpose of this contract is to enable Iraqi youth to respond to the job opportunities in the agriculture sector and agri-value-chains in Iraq through the provision of skills required by the labour market as well as the enhancement of the employability and entrepreneurship prospective in the agriculture and agri-value chain sectors.
The specific objectives of this contract are :
Development of competency-based training models for TVET in agriculture and agri-value-chains; Establishment of a coordination mechanism for the TVET sector governance co-lead by the private sector to enhance entrepreneurship and employability in agriculture and agri-value-chain sector;
Creation of awareness for opportunities for Iraqi youth of TVET in agriculture and agri-value-chains, and for green climate-smart practices in the agriculture and agri-value-chain sector.
Commencement date of the project : January 2022
Qualifications & skills
Preferably a Master s degree in the areas of education or agriculture or business management
Fluency in both written and spoken English
General professional experience
Preferably at least 10 years of professional experience in TVET sector governance or TVET-related policies or institutional capacity building for the provision of TVET
At least one experience in managing similar donor-funded projects as a Team Leader or in a senior project management position.
Experience in the management of EU funded projects will be considered as a strong advantage
Specific professional experience
Preferably at least 5 years of experience in working with Government institutions or accredited TVET training providers / centres or private sector on TVET in agriculture or agri-value-chains
Preferably proven experience in at least 1 project or assignment in establishing a coordination mechanism for TVET sector governance with the private sector
Experience and knowledge of best practices in agriculture or agricultural training will be considered as an asset
