the country director has overall responsible for all of media action’s work in nigeria. bbc media action is the bbc’s international development charity, which uses media and communications to help reduce poverty and support people to understand their rights.
we do this through partnering with civil society, media and others to produce creative programmes and other outputs which inform and engage audiences on key development issues.
we focus on health, governance and rights, and resilience and humanitarian response. we also strengthen the media sector through building professional capacity and infrastructure
are you the right candidate?
we’re looking for a dynamic senior leader from the media or development sectors with experience of leading large, diverse teams.
you have a flair for galvanising and motivating a multi-disciplinary team, recruiting high calibre staff and managing performance.
with experience living in a developing country, you’ll know how media can be used for development, and your understanding of public service broadcasting will demonstrate your potential to acquire strong editorial skills.
you’ll bring your experience effectively managing complex budgets, and of the design and management of large projects. you’ll have shown your ability to secure new business, present persuasively to potential partners and oversee successful proposals.
