The Treasury & Financial Control Accountant is responsible for strengthening financial controls and ensuring companywide implementation.

He / she is responsible for making sure the financial records are accurate; complete and timely in line with international accounting standards, perform treasury functions, and maintains banking relationships .

Implements company policies and financial controls and ensure fund disbursements are based on approved budget and timelines

Perform real-time data capture on the accounting software and ensure all entries are properly classified under the appropriate ledger head.

Maintains cordial relationship with bank representatives and liaise with them for prompt resolution of all banking transactions, including processing of bonds and guarantees

Monitors bank balances, explain variances and propose means of optimizing available funds, investment opportunities or useful guide to the management

Ensures fixed and other assets are safeguarded through fixed assets coding, quarterly inventory count and documentation of usage or movements of assets among projects.

Monitors invoice age and due date. Prepare debt and retention aging reports as well as follow up on collection.

Maintains inter project loan schedule and follow up for prompt repayment

Perform monthly bank reconciliation of all designated accounts and resolve all discrepancies

Confirms the completeness and accuracy of all posting (revenue, cost of sales, assets, liability and expenses) and ensure monthly GL closure is achieved by 10th of the subsequent month.

Coordinate year-end audit and ensure audited report is signed off before 30th April of each year.

Prepares journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation, relating to amortization, depreciation, accruals, and a variety of other information.

Analyses and perform foreign currency exchanges.

Ensures that entries align with generally accepted accounting principles.

Perform financial analysis and prepare financial reports with variance analysis following established procedures.

Properly maintain Finance department records, including receipts, invoices, payment requisitions and other correspondences

Ensure regulatory compliance and prompt remittance of statutory deductions

Provide support to the project team for seamless execution.

Carry out QMS audit and assist with other audits such as assets, materials and tax audit

Perform other responsibility as may be assigned from time to time

Prepare and submit a weekly report on areas of responsibility

Educational Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management or related field.

Membership of ICAN, ACCA, or CIMA.

Minimum of 6 years cognate work experience

Knowledge of Tax laws and ability to use accounting packages
