Role Objective :
The objective of this position is to ensure adequate and accurate financial reporting of the company’s activities.
Role Summary :
The position holder will be primarily responsible for keeping accurate financial information, managing accounting records, ensuring timely rendition of regulatory returns, collating and monitoring budgets, publishing financial statements, coordinating statutory audits and liaising with regulators and government agencies.
Detailed Duties & Responsibilities :
Plan and administer accounting systems and prepare financial information for the company.
Prepare monthly management accounts and reports
Prepare monthly performance report of activities and analyse variances to support management decision making
Collate, prepare and present annual budget for management approval and monitor the budget
Ensure expenses are in line with budget and budgetary control
Examine necessary accounting records and prepare annual financial statements and reports .
Review all regulatory returns and portfolio reports prepared by the Finance Officer
Prepare income tax returns from accounting records and ensure prompt payment of various taxes in accordance with the relevant tax laws.
Also liaise with our tax consultant and tax authorities to ensure compliance .
Liaise with external auditors to ensure statutory audit of the company’s financial statement and meet agreed deadlines with the auditors .
Prepare and render statutory returns to regulators such as the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE)
Attend investment committee meetings and support the committee on best alternative investment options
Other duties as may be assigned by your Line Manager
Key Requirements :
Minimum of HND / BSc in Accounting, or related discipline . Possession of professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA etc.
6 - 8 years professional experience.
