Our client, a leader in the Information Technology and Services Industry is seeking to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The Chief Executive Officer will provide overall strategic leadership and direction for business growth, expansion and diversification of products and markets to optimize sustainable profit and ensure improved performance across people, processes, structures, and systems.
The primary focus of this role is to provide oversight for all business operations required to execute the corporate strategies, drive efficiency and profitability, and manage / grow the company’s existing relationships and client / product portfolio.
Strategic Planning & Communication Effective coordination, and leadership of the organisation’s strategic planning activities and processes.
Effective communication of agreed corporate strategy to the entire workforce.
Strategy Evaluation effective selection and appropriateness of strategy based on sound evaluation principles.
Execution, Monitoring and Evaluation consistent implementation of organisational objectives and periodic measurement of results.
Present for Board approval a sound corporate strategic plan, supporting business strategies and annual growth plans and provide leadership and guidance to Heads of Business Units to deliver on agreed performance targets.
Ensure effective implementation of Board decisions that guide company operations in compliance with statutory provisions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry contacts and existing clients as potential sources of additional business and as reference accounts
Identify new growth opportunities within the private sector and work towards creating a viable client portfolio.
Oversee the establishment of an effective customer / client service delivery model and culture
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization and ensure that all critical operational exceptions are immediately brought to the attention of the Board
Oversee the preparation of annual budgets; provide regular updates to the Board on budget variances and approve expenditures within delegated authority / approval rights
Review periodic financial and non-financial reports to effectively monitor company performance and steer the activities of the company towards the achievement of its strategic goals and objectives
Oversee risk management activities in line with Board-approved risk limits
Monitor and stay abreast of industry, local and global developments, current trends and events relating to the company’s products and services for improved competitive positioning and advantage
Review the integrity of all control systems and of operational processes to identify improvement opportunities and objectives for the company.
Lead and drive the formulation of organisation -wide policies and enforcement of their implementation for advancing the organisation objectives.
Lead and monitor the organisation ’s strategic planning process.
Monitor financial performance of the organisation.
Monitor risk management and overall risk profile of the organisation ’s business and activities.
Function as the Chief Marketing Officer of the Company.
Lead the resolution of organisation -wide issues that have strategic implications.
Develop productive relationships with key strategic partner and stakeholders to advance the cause of the company. Leading the organisation 's relationships with key decision makers in the relevant regulatory entities.
Plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the functions of the Company.
Collaborate with the Board to define and articulate the Company's vision and champion the articulation of strategies and plans for achieving it.
Ensure the development and implementation of relevant structures (process, people, and systems) to support the achievement of the Company's vision, goals, and objectives.

Education / Experience Requirements
Minimum of Fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience in the Information and Communications Technology sector, out of which at least six (6) years must have been at Management level.
The last three (3) years must have been in an Executive level role.
At least five (5) years of relevant business development experience with demonstrable evidence of targets delivered.
Strong technical background in IT, with broad expertise in IT and ICT solutions, financial, management and strong business development participation across private and public sectors.
Minimum of a first degree in IT or Engineering, Information Management, or any related field.
MBA or a Masters in a Management / Business related discipline is desirable.
Relevant and recognised professional certifications and memberships are required (e.g., CCNP, ITIL, PMP, Prince2 etc.).
