Job Brief
We currently need to hire a Utility Manager / Engineer to oversee the successful execution of our day-to-day utility operations services
You will manage our team of technicians and engineers who work together to ensure that water, gas, electricity, or other utilities are delivered in a safe and timely manner.
You would also be tasked with developing new ways to improve our services to reduce costs. This might involve researching new technologies or equipment, testing out new procedures or protocols, or implementing changes based on routines and general feedback from the clients we serve.
Responsibilities
Managing operations, monitoring routines and conducting maintenance schedules, reviewing operational breakdown metrics in specified areas as related to energy usage, water treatment plant, production levels, and labor costs to ensure smooth operations.
Managing effluent and Sewage Treatment Plant, Firefighting Pump house, Fire detection system and PA system, Central HVAC systems (Administrative Building), Power backup systems : UPS and diesel generator, Air compressors, Bore wells maintenance, Fire detection, alarm, and PA system
Ensuring compliance to EHS guidelines in day-to-day operations in all areas under the role portfolio.
Calibration of relays and breaker servicing in HT / LT rooms, earthing pit testing.
Diesel generator annual checks
Bore wells maintenance
Conducting fire drills and other safety programs to ensure that employees are prepared in case of an emergency
Scheduling regular maintenance for equipment such as boilers, air conditioning systems, pumps, or water treatment facilities
Managing requirements of WTP / ETP lab and coordinating daily operations
Managing general hygiene and housekeeping activities in central utility facilities
Ensuring compliance with equipment certification requirements for the organization
Monitoring the performance of service providers such as contractors or utility companies to ensure that services are being delivered satisfactorily
Overseeing the development of new utility systems or facilities such as gas pipelines or power plants
Ensuring the establishment of appropriate procedures and reporting formats for each of the individual areas.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields.
In-depth knowledge of operation and maintenance of infrastructural equipment, like boilers, DG sets, etc.
5-8 years minimum experience with Power Plant, and Process Industry in Maintenance / operation of various utilities / infrastructure.
Should be able to carry out maintenance practices, such as preventive, predictive, and condition monitoring.
Understanding system design for air, water systems, etc.
Working knowledge of computers.
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 monthly.
