    The Role

    Under the direct supervision of the WASH officer, the WASH Technician is responsible to organize and follow-up the construction / rehabilitation / fixing or other related activities in targeted communities.

    The post is specifically oriented towards the WASH emergency response in the context of humanitarian crisis with IDPs and other vulnerable communities.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Essential :

    Experience from working with water and sanitation projects in a humanitarian / recovery contextKnowledge of general building maintenance including, masonry plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.

    Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contextsExperience in dealing with local contractorsAbility to write clear reportsEducation : Secondary / High School Diploma or equivalentAt least 2 years experiences in construction / rehabilitation of water point and latrines

    Desirable :

    Work experience in Borno StateHard working and self-motivatedTechnical knowledge on water quality control and management

    The Role

    The post holder will be responsible for implementation of all the hygiene promotions activities in Borno State.The Hygiene Promotion Officer will closely work with the Community Mobilization team of SCI, Health Facility Staff, Community Organization, Water User committees and Volunteers to ensure coordinated and effective implementation of hygiene promotion activities.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Essential :

    Education in water, sanitation and hygiene, sociology, anthropology, or a related subject, or equivalent field experienceAt least 2 to 3 years experiences in hygiene promotionPrevious experience of working in community based WASH programsExperience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability in a WASH contextExperience of organizing and conducting training and meetingsExcellent communication skills and knowledge of English, Hausa, Kanuri and other local languagesAbility to write clear reportsGood knowledge of participatory approaches for behavior change (PHAST / SARAR, CHAST, CLTS)Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy

    Desirable :

    Knowledge of Save the Children systems and ways of workingWork experience in Borno State

    The Role

  • Under the direct supervision of the Hygiene Promotion Officer (WASH Officer), the incumbent will be required to work as a member of the WASH unit towards the improvement of hygiene promotion and community mobilization activities effectiveness, particularly as part of the WASH intervention, to safeguard and improve the public health of the affected population by promoting safe WASH practices, including appropriate use and maintenance of WASH facilities and services;
  • ensuring appropriate targeted community involvement in the design and delivery of essential WASH services and facilities and sensitization.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Essential :

    Excellent communication skills and knowledge of English, Hausa, Kanuri and other local languagesGood knowledge of participatory approaches for behavior change (PHAST / SARAR, CHAST, CLTS)Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacyAbility to write clear reports

    Education :

    Secondary school diploma or equivalentAt least 2 years experiences in hygiene promotion in community based program

    Desirable :

    Work experience in Borno State.

    The Role

    Under the direct supervision of the WASH Coordinator, the WASH Assistant is responsible to provide support to WASH team in compilation and documentation of evidence for WASH activities.

    The post hold will also support collection and management of primary and secondary data for the WASH sector.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Essential :

    Strong Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel and power point)Excellent report writing, communication and analytical skillsAbility to work in hardship areasWillingness to travel outside work stationsExperience from working with water and sanitation projects in a humanitarian / recovery contextAbility to write clear reportsEducation : Secondary / High school diploma or equivalentAt least 2 years experiences in construction / rehabilitation of water point and latrines.

    Desirable :

    Work experience in Borno StateHard working and self-motivated.
