Senior Quantity Surveyor needed at building construction company.

OVERVIEW

Our Client is a leading design building construction company Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

Requirements

Degree in quantity surveying

Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in quantity surveying services

with a proven track record of delivering cost benefits

Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports

Thorough understanding of contract administration

Experience in compiling and following strict budgets

In-depth understanding of construction materials, pricing, and industry

Strong attention to detail with an ability to focus on critical elements and, at the same

time, remain mindful of the big picture

Excellent negotiation skills

Good working knowledge of Auto CAD and Excel

Excellent team player with the ability to work independently and through own initiative

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express complex ideas

in simpler terms

Ability to optimize all aspects of project life cycle costs and value management

Recognized qualifications such as Chartered status would be an advantage

Job Description for the Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor will :

  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
  • Manage the selection process for vendors and suppliers to work on the construction of a
  • project.

  • Estimate and negotiate the cost of the different materials needed for a project.
  • Select and / or source construction materials.
  • Liaise with the project manager and site engineers to prepare the program of work for
  • every project.

  • Track changes to the design and construction work and adjust budget projections
  • accordingly.

  • Conduct site visits to measure and value the work done and prepare valuation claims.
  • Prepare payment schedules for all engaged workers on site.
  • Liaise regularly with the client and other construction professionals, such as site mangers,
  • project managers and site engineers.

  • Prepare reports.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
