Job Objectives and Primary Responsibilities
Senior Internal Control and Risk Management Officer (SICRM) will
be responsible for designing / redesigning and monitoring the control
systems set in place to promote and ensure strict adherence to internal
and statutory policies, particularly those related to prudent
operational, good governance and ethical standards. The SICRM will also
responsible for assessing, identifying, measuring and managing emergent
risks in the company.
Education / Professional Qualification :
Bachelor’s degree (second class lower) or its equivalent in a numeric discipline
A post-graduate degree in risk management / MBA in Professional certification e.g., ACCA, CIA will be an added advantage.
Work Experience, Skills and Competencies :
Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in the consumer
electronics or related industry or 8 years cognitive finance experience
at management level in relevant functions of risk and control
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong work ethics and Integrity
In-depth knowledge of Finance Regulations
Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills.
Ability to use and apply technology in day-to-day activities including data interpretation and risk management.
Strong attention to details.
High levels of professionalism, ethics, objectivity and independence in the discharge of duties.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
Ensure the development of a robust internal control plan for all departments in the company
Conduct periodic reviews and test internal control systems to ensure
compliance with relevant policies / regulations in line with the
company’s control objectives.
Proactively identify weak operational systems and recommend remedial
measures or policies to guard against possible fraud, service failure
and business disruption
Provide support, educate and train staff to build policy compliance
and internal control and risk awareness within the organization.
Conduct risk assessment analyses and prepare risk assessment reports
for key segments of the company’s business and operations such as
market and operational risks.
Establish policies and procedures to identify, measure and address risks in the organization including probable losses.
Review, assess, recommend and implement risk management policies,
documentation, protocols and solutions including those for insurance,
safety and security policies, business continuity plans, recovery
measures, etc.
Review and analyse metrics and data such as cash flow, inventory,
breakage, and employee activity that could uncover risk and / or
fraudulent behaviour.
To prepare and present risk reports and proposals to executive leadership.
Other duties as may be assigned.
