Job Description
Our Client, who is a growing player in the FMCG industry which is located in Yaba, Lagos is currently recruiting for an Accountant.
Responsibilities / Duties :
Manage all accounting transactions
Prepare budget forecasts
Publish financial statements in time
Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Ensure timely bank payments
Compute taxes and prepare tax returns and abide by federal regulations
Manage balance sheets and income statements
Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis
Audit financial transactions and documents
Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct Database backups when necessary
Comply with financial policies and regulations
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
Qualifications :
BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
Work experience as an Accountant
Personal Qualities :
Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
Advanced MS Excel skills
Experience with general ledger functions
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills
Other skills or requirements :
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ability to use Quickbooks
Additional experience in Audit
