The Role Responsibilities Business PerformanceProduct : -Responsible for driving Business banking liability budget. -Responsible for executing the Nigeria agenda on Business Banking Deposits and supporting Cash Management initiatives (for Business Banking) to deliver sustainable growth in Deposits across Nigeria.

  • Responsible for growing market share and increasing client level profitability by supporting new acquisition and relationship teams and portfolio management of all Business Banking Deposit products based on client needs-
  • Achieve the Revenue, Balance Sheet, Product Margins as per budget-Ensure consistent Service and Product delivery on client propositions as per budgeted benchmarks by identifying challenges related to (a) products and processes design, for resolution by Product team in the centre and (b) process execution within Sales, Operations and Service teams, for resolution in country with the relevant stakeholders-

    Implement and commericalise global standard Product program for Products in Nigeria. -Collaborate effectively with Business Banking Sales and Relationship teams and CIB / TB to leverage the eco-

    system and help deliver budgeted Balance Sheet and NFI targets-Execute global standard Product Optimization strategies to deliver Product level RoRWA -

    Implement the integrated product segment strategy to launch / re-launch the program value proposition and specific enablers and track program performance.

  • Optimize charges to create value for clients in line with TCF principles -Support Learning academy for the development of appropriate training content for the acquisition, relationship and service teams -
  • Responsible for Portfolio health of relevant products- delivery through regular engagement with operations, retail analytics and Finance in country and region to track portfolio performance (through lead indicators) and taking necessary actions to ensure balance build and activation in line with budgeted objectives-

    Responsible for ensuring that Governance & Controls around BB Deposit Products are in line with CAD and Global PPG. Ensure that there is a standardized process around Account opening and rollover Term deposit.

  • Provide leadership, training and guidance to Business Banking Relationship team.-Work with the RMs, Area Heads and Branch Managers to facilitate revenue growth in the portfolio.
  • Product Launches & Product Maintenance -Execute the global Product standardization and Product rationalization agenda across BB Deposits in Nigeria-

    Work with segment and frontline teams to identify client needs and launch existing global product solutions to meet these needs.

    In the absence of existing global solutions work with the regional team to have the relevant proposition developed as a global solution for implementation Product & Service Delivery-

    Have oversight and take ownership on end-to-end (standard) process to ensure execution of on-boarding for clients and fulfilment of products through engagement with relevant stakeholders involved in executing the standard process to ensure we deliver a seamless client CVP-

    Complaints & Client Experience : Collaborate closely with the CEPG teams to Identify gaps and design failures in existing process and products and work with global and regional product teams to solve for endemic design issues to improve overall product and Service deliverySales & Service ManagementAchieve Business Clients’ segment target growth of Revenues, Assets, Liabilities & profits-

    Ensure that the sales and distribution strategy is aligned with the Group modelGovernance-Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas-

    Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

  • Responsible for delivering effective governance’; capability to challenge executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

    Monitor competition and keep abreast of the product offerings / service developments-Partner with Stakeholders to enhance products and service synergy / enable improved services and deliverables.

  • Identify business / improvements opportunities.-Proactive stakeholder engagement.-Provide pro active help and tools to run BB business.
  • Achieve the revenue, balance sheet, and operating profit targets agreed in the annual budget, and establish the fundamentals for the longer term performance of the business.
  • Monitor competition and keep abreast of the Business Banking Segment offerings.Processes-Manage BB products, system and operating instructions to ensure seamless retrieval and safe keeping-
  • Partner with Country ITO, Operations, Procurement, Segment and Finance Teams on service level management.-Recommend improvements in operational processes, procedures and products based on monitoring of customer feedback to ensure constant enhancement of service levels and efficiency.

    People and Talent-Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from my team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners including all Stakeholders.

  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of the frontline sales team and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives and provide feedback to my direct line manager in line with performance against my responsibilities and objectives.
  • Risk Management-Ensure compliance with the process for bid submission. -Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group.

    Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them-

    The ability to interpret the Group’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures-

    Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility-Ensure you remain alert to the risk of money laundering and assist in the Bank’s efforts in combating it by adhering to the key principles in relation to : identifying your customer, knowing your customer, reporting suspicions, safeguarding records and not disclosing suspicions to customers.

    Regulatory & Business conduct -Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. -Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.

  • Lead the Nigeria / Retail Banking Products / Business Banking team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles : Fair Outcomes for Clients;
  • Effective Operation of Financial Markets; Financial Crime Prevention; The Right Environment.-Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures. Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5 years vintage, Degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business Managements will be an added advantage.
  • Good writing and analytical skills.
