Key Responsibilities
Function as the Discipline lead on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group
Leads other Engineers, Designers & Drafters personnel in technical excellence and growth in Quality Improvement Process
Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract
Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct on-site training of personnel.
Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies
Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and quality is acceptable.
Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel
Works closely with project manager to resolve any existing or forecasted problem related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance or productivity
Provides technical direction, making decisions and / or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants
Supervises the production of project drawings and design calculations
Helps to define discipline design organization and participation on a project, including scope of work, design criteria, schedules, standards, and procedures.
Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating prospective employees. Offers personnel development programs, conducts performance evaluation, counsel employees, takes corrective actions (as required) and approves termination.
Requirements
Bachelor's / Master's Degree includng MBA preferred in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
7-10years relevant work experience
Must be COREN certified.
