ONE is scaling up its advocacy and campaigning efforts for a fixed period to double down on achieving urgent COVID vaccine access and economic recovery goals.

The world now has the knowledge and the means to end the pandemic everywhere, but currently only 2.3% of people in low-income countries have received at least one dose of the vaccine compared to 69% of the population in rich countries.

Governments must urgently step up to ensure that 70% of the world’s population is vaccinated by September 2022 and that a sustainable global economic response plan is delivered that works for everyone.

We are seeking expertise and extra capacity in a number of key areas, including video production and social media. This is a unique opportunity to join an experienced and dynamic team at a crucial moment in time!

About the opportunity

This role will be in charge of creating short-form social media videos for ONE’s channels to engage new and existing supporters.

You will be an experienced social video editor who thinks mobile-first and can use current social trends to create videos that bring our campaigns to life, inspire our followers to take action, and increase our impact.

You’ll report to the Video Production Manager who sits within the Global Content Team. But you’ll work in close consultation and collaboration with African market teams.

The Global Content team oversees ONE’s global social media channels; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin.

This is a fixed term position, up to 12 months in length.

In this role, you will

  • Manage video projects working under the direction of the Video Production Manager from initiation through to final deliverable, incorporating feedback from relevant stakeholders.
  • Film interviews with local citizens about their opinions on issues and personal stories.
  • Shoot videos of ONE staff and supporters.
  • Shoot selfie-style videos of yourself for TikTok and / or Instagram Reels.
  • Produce video content that resonates with our African audience to help engage and grow our supporter base.
  • Create eye-catching thumbnails and write social copy.
  • Work with Content team colleagues to analyze performance data, and use results to influence future content development.
  • Work with our global and Africa-based teams to develop an effective pipeline of content.
  • Additional duties as appropriate to the role.
  • What you bring to one

  • 4+ years’ relevant professional experience required creating videos suited for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and other social networks
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
  • Ability to produce a video independently - from ideation, to production, to delivery.
  • Strong understanding of social media algorithms and what type of content performs best on each channel
  • Ability to keep up with social media trends and use them to communicate ONE’s messaging
  • Excellent script writing ability and strong editorial and storytelling skills
  • Comfortable being on camera for social media style videos
  • Comfortable identifying and interviewing people and capturing footage for personal story pieces
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple teams and departments
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness to respond to a fast-paced work environment with shifting deadlines
  • Digital asset management experience
  • Other attributes

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, etc.)
  • Experience with DSLR cameras, audio and lighting equipment
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Highly organized, analytical, detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills
  • Remain positive in high pressure and stressful situations
  • Ability and willingness to travel across locations of implementation including rural communities
  • Flexible and resourceful approach with a willingness to learn and develop new skills and imbibe ONE’s values.
  • Language Skills

    Fluency in English is required. Fluency in other languages highly preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Remote work environment at the time of hire. In-office work options available and standard office work environment in the future when appropriate to facilitate.
