Our client, a leader in the Information Technology and Services Industry is seeking to fill the position of Infrastructure and Network Administration / IT Manager .

The Infrastructure and Network Administration / IT Manager will be responsible for :

  • Developing and Implementing strategies for managing the Organisation’s IT infrastructure needs (Hardware and Networks).
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving problems, as well as implementing and designing network solutions.
  • Preparing, implementing, and administering firewalls, controllers, switches, routers, application transport, network infrastructure and hardware and skilled at planning and high-level design.
  • Key Responsibilities

    Leadership, Strategy & Planning

  • Formulate and maintain long term strategic plan for acquiring and operating efficient and effective information processing applications, technologies, and communications infrastructures.
  • Develop and maintain applications portfolio plan, including enhancements, replacement, and support of application systems.
  • Develop and maintain a sourcing strategy for IT assets, including application software, technical assets, and IT related physical infrastructure.
  • Participate in IT strategic planning, project planning and budget planning efforts.
  • Work with other management staff to ensure the company’s IT systems are sufficient to meet the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Analyze technology trends and develop infrastructure strategy, architecture, and delivery processes designed for agility and cost effectiveness.
  • IT Operation Management

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
  • Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
  • Monitor network performance and integrity.
  • Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.
  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Mentor team members on technical issues.
  • Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery).
  • Communicate with users when needed.
  • Maintain complete technical documentation.
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
  • Direct the research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.
  • Establish metrics, key performance indicators, and service level agreements to continually improve the performance of IT operations.
  • Provide leadership for delivery of 24 / 7 service operations and KPI compliance.
  • Develop RFPs / RFIs, oversee product evaluations, coordinate product and service selections, and ensure that pricing, terms and conditions for supplier contracts meet ’s and IT standards while achieving optimal results for the firm.
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
  • Hardware Management

  • Provide infrastructure services vision, enable innovation, and leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the firm’s requirements and expectations.
  • Authorize and oversee the development, deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and ongoing support of all hardware and software based on company needs.
  • Lead company strategic technology initiatives to build and maintain key elements of the firm’s enterprise infrastructure, including but not limited to 24x7 data center infrastructure management and evolution, mobility and remote access services, ubiquitous wireless networks, enterprise-scale messaging environments, active directory multi-forest integration, dual-carrier global WAN, software-defined internetworking, and innovative end user computing solutions.
  • Network Management

  • Ensure successful planning and implementation of network development projects to timescale, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Plan improvements to the network to ensure that the network is able to support current and future demands placed on it.
  • Ensure consistent delivery and operation of high-quality networking solutions, services, and support to internal clients.
  • Take a lead role in ensuring the security and compliance requirements of networks and protected data.
  • Manage network services investment, provision and resourcing according to organisational policy and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on the quality and effectiveness of network service management and performance to meet business and organisational objectives.
  • Project Management

  • Effectively communicate expectations to relevant team members in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Proactively manage changes in scope, ensure that any change to scope is documented and approved.
  • Identify potential crises, devise contingency plans.
  • Provide Project planning, Milestone management, Scope management, Resource forecasting; Financial Management; Change Management across the project portfolio.
  • Define and embed project control and governance.
  • Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete for all assignments.
  • Manage and compile Programme related financial and KPI information.
  • Ensure cross-programme dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained.
  • Requirements

    Skills and Competencies Requirements

  • A deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security and the applications / services they enable as well as the criticality of maintaining strong connections between the respective teams within IT.
  • Excellent understanding of multi-disciplinary nature of IT solutions.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues important.
  • Excellent understanding of multi-disciplinary nature of IT solutions.
  • Experience in related IT disciplines such as data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, database administration and outsourced systems.
  • Understanding of TCP / IP networking, routing protocols, messaging systems, security technology and Internet core systems.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration.
  • Demonstrated technical writing, good presentation abilities, and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Education / Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electronics / Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Masters in relevant discipline and membership of a professional body are required.
  • Minimum of 7 years in hands-on experience performing functional, system, performance and acceptance testing in technology organizations.
  • Experience in cost management disciplines, contractual agreements, firewalls and screening routers, configuration, and auditing.
