The Community Coordinator provides community development, advocates for community members, assists clients directly with information, and facilitates an awareness of social needs and trends within the community.

As a community coordinator, you maintain contact with community members online and offline

Responsible for the development, coordination, and management of collection and advocacy programs.

Develop and implement collection and advocacy program goals, objectives, and outcome measurements.

Determine and direct appropriate method of service / delivery; eg. Information, facilitation, training, and recruiting.

Act as a liaison between community members and GIVO

Advise internal / external stakeholders on program issues.

Community Coordinator Requirements

Relevant experience (up to 3 years) in a non-profit, international organization or

environmental (recycling / waste management) company. Background in

Social Work, Public Administration, or related human services discipline is a

plus.

Understanding of community development principles & practice.

Written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact effectively with individuals, groups, and agencies.

Problem-solving, mediation, crisis intervention, and negotiation skills.

Ability to manage numerous priorities.

Ability to deal with a wide and diverse client group.

Strong leadership abilities.

Living in Wuse, Abuja

Remuneration

Experienced employees can earn in the region of N1.25m - 2.0m per annum.

Additional benefits may include bonuses for productivity, as well as a

pension and private health care.

Income figures are intended as a guide only.

Community Coordinator Working hours

You can expect to work around 40 hours per week. Extended hours may be required

to meet deadlines or to introduce new systems.

You could be on call at weekends

or on public holidays to deal with problems.
