NOTE : The responsibilities include the main General and Special responsibilities listed below. In addition the OIM or any superior may assign any other tasks to be performed.
To carry out duty watch as instructed. To carry out maintenance work and other operational tasks within the deck department as required.
Act as Crane Operator if needed (see Crane Operator job description)
To be fully familiar with regulations and work procedures applicable to the task to be executed.
General maintenance and repair. This can include maintenance of the ship’s structures such as chipping, scraping, cleaning, priming and painting.
Also perform maintenance of lifeboats, rescue boats, life rafts etc.
Perform all operations connected with the launching of lifesaving equipment.
To be able to operate deck machinery and cargo gear.
To execute assigned tasks in conformance with work procedures and / or quality plans as instructed by the responsible officer or the Bosun.
To execute assigned tasks safely, to the highest standards, and to report hazardous conditions without delay to the Duty Operator or Bosun.
Be familiar with the PTW System
This Job Description shall be read in conjunction with Chapter 3 of FPSO Knock Allan Operation Manual which is available to all personnel.
If you do not have access to the Chapter or do not have a copy of the Chapter, you may request a copy of the Chapter from your Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Meet the requirements for certification as a rating forming part of a navigational watch;
While qualified to serve as a rating forming part of a navigational watch, have approved seagoing service in the deck department of;
Not less than 18 months, or
Not less than 12 months and have completed approved training; and
Meet the standard of competence specified in section A-II / 5 of the STCW Code
Good English written and spoken
