Contract duration : 12 month initial period
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the design and engineering of modification projects through a team of subject matter experts in Naval Architecture, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Process, Piping and Structural disciplines, ensuring management of change proposals and improvements meet acceptable international standard, remain within agreed budget and schedule, and comply to contract requirements / client specifications, safety and regulatory requirements and company procedures to support optimal Asset operations
Responsible for planning and mitigating the impact of equipment obsolescence on the FPSOs
Ensure effective interface with Procurement, Construction and Commissioning processes
Acts as company lead and quality assurance person with contracted specialised third-party engineering organisations ensuring deliverables are received in a timely manner and to specification
Support the Project Manager as required to ensure effective project administration, reporting, project cost and schedule control, invoicing, risk management etc
Ensure the highest level of HSE performance in the design / engineering aspects of the project, including the full range of HSE activities such as standard setting, leading by example, communicating, monitoring, consequence management, and management of a safety case
Qualification
Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
Other relevant post-graduate education may be considered
Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
Experience
Ideally 15 years of experience within the offshore industry, including previous experience as (deputy or area) engineering manager for at least one substantial and successful (safe, on budget and schedule, high uptime) offshore project either for an oil & gas operator, an FPSO contractor or an offshore EPC contractor
Any previous FPSO experience will be greatly valued
International and multi-cultural experience is preferred

Good understanding of major construction and lease contracts
Good knowledge of engineering management processes and systems
Good understanding of Safety Case process

Good understanding of ships and / or FPSOs, as well as shipyard and fabrication yard activities
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Other
The position may require temporary assignments at project premises or on-board FPSOs
The position may require heavy travel and long working hours in peak periods
