Roles and responsibilities


Support and conduct maintenance of equipment and provide efficient support on board of all BOURBON Vessels / ROV’s as and when required

Description and Expected Outcome / Performance Indicators

Guarantee fleet availability by carrying out / supervising preventive and corrective maintenance of maintenance / repair of defective equipment on board of vessels / ROVs when required.

Technical Competence :

  • Improve vessel technical availability and reliability by reducing cost and downtime.
  • All maintenance history to be correctly recorded in the system
  • Improve vessel / ROV technical availability and reliability by tracking common failure with further isolating action.

  • To analyze UPMP (root cause analysis) and implement corrective actions.
  • Improve safety during operations (including shipyards) by following Bourbon Safety Procedure : carry out toolbox meeting and job safety analysis.
  • Provide input on warehouse management (or storage container as applicable).
  • Reconditioning of spare parts / equipment.
  • Maintain spare parts / equipment availability; reduce the tools consumption, smooth running of Warehouse spare parts transit.
  • Improve the level of knowledge of shore teams and crews.
  • Operational Competence :

  • Identify, analyze and review key performance Indicators. Take action that optimize processes, performance and use of resources in the short and long term.
  • Knowledge of data collection, data mining, data analysis, benchmarking and statistical techniques. Know how to select data and use appropriately for research, business intelligence or in order to solve complex situations.
  • Technical Knowledge of Offshore Support Vessel types.
  • Knowledge of structural design and all technics (Mechanical, Electrical and Structural) related to hull, painting, Machinery and Know how to supervise Vessel conversion and Operational maintenance (planned maintenance, conditional Maintenance, corrective Maintenance) and New Building if applicable.
  • Know how to plan, manage and monitor project activity, schedules, resources allocation, time scales and timeline with associated budget in order to deliver on time, within budget and at the required quality level.
  • Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

    Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

    Education :

    Minimum of postgraduate qualification in Sciences, Engineering, Diesel Technician or Management (M.Sc., MBA etc.)

    Work Experience :

  • Minimum of ten (10) years postgraduate experience working in a core HSE role out of which Seven (7) of those years must have been spent at HSE Management level within the group / Organization or in a similar position in a multi-
  • national in the Marine or Oil and Gas Industry.

  • Excellent diagnostic skill and experience, both internal and external engine diagnostics
  • Ability to carry out full diagnostics using diagnostic tools on different product types with or without supervision depending on skills and experience
  • Experience using Insite diagnostic tool
  • Experience using Cummins EDS system
  • Experience with marine engines such as MAN, Cooper Bessemer, Wartsila, ALCO, GE, MTU or Perkins, Cummins etc.
  • Highly experienced marine technicians if interested, travel to any global location
  • Active and current passport, if needed to perform work
  • Offshore marine service experience
