The British Council in Nigeria has a vacancy for a Consultant English in Education Sub Saharan Africa (SSA).

Role purpose :

Reporting to the Senior Consultant English and Education SSA and working in close collaboration with the regional, cluster and country-

based Education and English in Education teams, key stakeholders in priority countries and other stakeholders, the postholder will support countries in SSA to develop EES State Aid and Non State Aid programmes in line with regional EES strategy.

A key accountability will be to contribute to proposal management. The postholder will also support the development and delivery of quality, effective, efficient and compliant State Aid and Non State Aid EES contracts, contributing to the scale up of existing projects and design of new ones (using programme based planning).

Location : Abuja, Nigeria

Role Requirements :

  • Postgraduate Diploma in English Language teaching or equivalent
  • MA in ELT or Education advantageous
  • Minimum two years’ experience of writing bids / proposals for external clients
  • Minimum two years’ experience of managing English / Education for development projects in a low-income country
  • Minimum two years’ experience of recruiting, managing and working with international and national consultants
  • Minimum two years’ experience of managing budgets and resources
  • Good operational knowledge of SAP
  • Good operational knowledge of monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience of commissioning research advantageous
