Job Competency

Ability to study plants and soil and develop better cultivation; planting and harvesting techniques.

Ability to improve crop yield, quality of seed and nutritional values of crops; and solve problems of the farm.

Ability to research, develop, and promote farming practices or products that diminish the effects of changes in soil, climate, and weather or prevent damage from pests.

Visiting fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples and testing samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.

Assisting with the plant selection process and the development of planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines.

Keeping detailed records regarding fields, customers, crops, and samples and generating reports and presenting findings to management.

Ability to provide management and technical consultancy services.

Sales of professional agricultural products and technology.

Any other assigned duties or responsibilities related to the farm’s operation.

Requirement

BSc / Master’s Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science or any other directly related field with minimum of 4 years post qualification experience as a Field Agronomist

Must be willing to reside on the farm and to relocate if necessary.

Proficiency with computers, Awareness of industry trends, technology and developments, exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills is important.
