Votre environnement de travail

Nigeria is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis because of the ongoing conflict in the North-East of the country between the State and the non-State armed groups.

With 1.8 million internally displaced people in the affected states (IOM, Displacement Tracking Matrix, October 2018) and 7.

1 million people in need of humanitarian help (OCHA, Nigeria : Humanitarian Response Plan, 2019-2021), it is one of the gravest crisis in the world.

Since the beginning of its involvement in Nigeria in 2010, Action Against Hunger answers to the urgent needs regarding nutritional security, through a multisectoral approach.

We develop therefore programs in nutrition and health, food security and livelihood (FSL), and in water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH).

To do so, and in addition to a coordinating base in Abuja the capital city, AAH intervenes from the bases of :

  • Dutse in the Jigawa state
  • Kano state under Dutse base management
  • Damaturu, Bade and Potiskum in Yobe state
  • Maiduguri, Monguno, and Damasak in Borno state
  • Financing is issued from donors such as DFID, ECHO,OFDA, SDC, EU, USAID, AFD, and SIDA. The total budget amounts to approximately 70 million USD.

With a staff strength of about 400, Action Against Hunger Nigeria has supported 1,923,308 persons with its life-saving activities in 2019 alone.

    Abuja :

Abuja is the capital city of the country with a large number of international develpement and humanitarian organizations.

Being a vibrant city, Abuja is home to a huge expatriate community with a variety of restaurants, shopping malls, cinemas and so on.

Action Against hunger Nigeria mission like so many other INGO’s has its co-ordination office based on Abuja. All Abuja based expats are assigned permanent rooms in the guest house.

It is generally a safe city, both day and night but as with any city, caution and common sense should be exercised always.

Though security guidelines here are relaxed, it must be strictly adhered to.
