Our Client is a pre-eminent Merchant Bank owned by reputable corporate and private investors. The Bank has its headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria with a focus on high-end financial products and services to select clientele in targeted sectors of the economy.

Our operations cover Corporate Banking, Private Banking, Investment Banking, Asset & Wealth Management, Treasury & Global Markets, and Securities Trading.

In alignment with the Bank group's growth strategy, highly motivated employees are essential to our organization's sustainable success, hence, we are seeking recruitment of motivated and competent talents to critical positions in the Bank.

Job Objectives

  • Responsible for originating and managing the relationships with Corporates and High Net worth Individuals in the various sectors across the country / region.
  • Duties & Responsibilities

  • Originate, maintain, and develop relationships in the corporate market in line with Bank's risk appetite.
  • Responsible for identifying potential new clients and working with them to build up a relationship with the goal of managing their wealth.
  • Proactively advise and consult with the clients, explaining the types of financial services available, educating them about investment options and potential risks, and recommending investments.
  • Manage a corporate loan book within parameters provided by Risk Management / Management Board.
  • To expand the current client base and explore new products which are suitable for client needs.
  • To promote and market the bank's services ensuring that the highest level of client service is provided at all times.
  • Evaluate financial, tax plus credit needs of all customers.
  • Ensure conformance with all banking policies and practices along with regulatory statutes.
  • Train and guide less experienced Business Development Officers.
  • Upgrade on latest developments plus market trends to identify and service client needs.
  • Develop loan packages for credit review as well as underwriting.
  • Carry out review of SLA Manuals to ensure applicable regulatory laws are incorporated.
  • Any other duties as required by the Divisional Head, Corporate Bank.
  • Education Requirement

  • University Degree Minimum of Second Class Lower or equivalent
  • 10 years banking experience 5 of which must be in a senior role in Business Development and Relationship Management
  • A track record of strong analytical and decision-making skills,
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office packages.
  • Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Banking products and competitors' sales approach.
  • Planning and organizing skills to maintain service deadlines and plan processes to maintain deliverables.
  • Knowledge and experience in modern sales & marketing practices in the financial services industry to provide visionary guidance on strategic changes to drive business development growth.
  • Performance Management to optimize own and team's productivity.
  • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures, and guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
