Role purpose :
This is a mid-management role, for an Omani national, with DAI Global Security, to support security risk management and duty of care for DAI staff, globally, based in Muscat.
The purpose of the Project Manager is :
To have the people of DAI feel and be as secure as is practicable in order to have the work of the company and its clients proceed.
To support the processes that corporately shape the One DAI Be Secure culture of global policies, practices, plans and protocols that, inter alia, set out minimum acceptable security standards, project security performance indicators and define DAI’s Duty of Care.
To support the training processes that ensure DAI staff are provided with what is needed so they are in a state of Informed Consent
Key duties and responsibilities :
Understand and remain up to date with DAI clients’ duty of care and security risk management requirements for purposes of informing DAI Global Security (GS) policies and practices across the company and through the project lifecycle.
Serve as the global Point of Contact for DAI Global Security systems such as Crisis 24, GS DAI Connect page, Project Security Performance Indicators - and others as needed and assigned while troubleshooting across DAI Business Units and in coordination with the GS Regional Representatives.
Ensure DAI Global Security policies and processes remain consistent with the One DAI Approach.
Serve as a coordination point between GS Regional Representatives, GS Director of Policy & Operations on DAI systems and project needs to ensure policies and practices are standardised as much as feasible across DAI and geographies.
Serve as the primary Point of Contact for DAI projects with worldwide activities, ensuring that these projects follow Security Performance Indicators.
Coordinate with relevant Regional Security Managers to acquire expert regional and country knowledge in support of these projects.
Network and coordinate with security professionals in the field of humanitarian aid and international development, to ensure that Global Security policies and processes are also informed by practices in DAI’s field of work.
Support the Director of Policy & Operations in designing and managing the DAI Global Security training package across various groups, individuals and geographies.
Contribute to and lead geopolitical and security analysis products across the various geographies. Support Global Security team members in data collection efforts and editing reports.
Act on behalf of GS Regional Managers / Directors, Director of Policy & Operations in case of travel, leave or other unforeseen needs, to include short term assignments on an as needed basis.
Support the Director of Policy & Operations in chairing the DAI Global Security Advisory Group.
Attend Business Unit routine new business and delivery meetings.
Support Incident and Crisis Management efforts.
Travel, as and when required, to DAI Project, Corporate or Country Platform offices to engage with Project Teams and Regional Security Managers globally.
Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience :
A University degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences (minor in Operations Management is a plus), military service, police service or similar.
At least five years of experience in security, international development or humanitarian work. Long or short-term international field experience is a plus.
Well-developed understanding of effective contract administration & supplier management.
Omani nationality is mandatory. Fluent Arabic and English language (written and spoken). Other foreign languages (French, Spanish) are a plus.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
