Job DescriptionResponsible for corporate tax planningLiaise with regulatory agencies (FIRS, LIRS, NITDEF, etc.) for tax auditEnsure prompt remittance and filing of VAT, ITF, CIT, PAYEE, WHT, NITDEF, and other regulatory paymentPrepare and maintains a monthly governance trackerGenerates business insight report on taxationWork with the assigned business area to understand how the business works and support the business to deliver agreed targets by providing insightful analysis and reports that provide guidance to the business on finance issuesPrepare monthly Financial reports for assigned entry, including the posting of transactions, monthly closing of accounting books and production of monthly variance analysis against budget with detailed commentariesEnsure that all transactions have been processed fully and incorrect application of all relevant laws, IFRS standards, and regulations (e.g. Capitalization Policy, Intellectual Property Recognition, Time-Sheet Management, Provisions, Cost Allocation and Apportionment, Taxes, Contractual Terms, etc.)Prepare the periodic and ad-hoc operational reports (Payables, Receivables, Accruals, etc.)Update Standard Operating Procedure document for all major processesEnsures that all processing and processes required for a successful monthly month-end closure are done correctly and in a timely mannerTreats the company’s financial data, information, analysis, and intelligence with the utmost care, caution, and confidentialityStays abreast of all changes in financial regulations, legislation, and trends in the markets and around the world that has any immediate or indirect impact on the organization and its operations.Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by Line Manager
QualificationsAn experienced Tax Accountant with a minimum of 3 years in FinanceAdvanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointVast Knowledge of the following regulatory payments (PIT, WHT, VAT, CIT and relevant others)Working experience as a tax plannerGood writing and presentation skillExcellent attention to detailStrong ability to analyze financial data and uncover insightsGood working relationship with the following agencies:Federal Inland Revenue ServiceLagos Inland Revenue ServiceOgun State Inland Revenue ServiceA professional member of the following organizations will be an added advantage:Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria CITNInstitute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria ICANChartered Institute of Management Accountants CIMAAssociation of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA
