We focus on three important areas of Information & Communication Technology for Development.

1. Mobile data collection for organizations in the developing world

2. Free, on-demand information available on simple mobile phones and smartphones

3. Mobile-to-mobile research of key informants for project monitoring and beneficiary feedback

We are launching a national toll free public service information line called the 3-2-1 Service on Interactive Voice Response, USSD and SMS.

By calling 3-2-1, anyone with access to a mobile phone will be able to access information on topics such as health, agriculture, financial literacy and more.

In a series of listen, then choose steps, callers will use their phone to select from among hundreds of recorded voice messages.

Reporting to the Country Manager for Nigeria, this position will be based in Abuja. This position will require up to 25% travel to USAID’s Integrated Health Program and / or Breakthrough Action project sites.

Your main role is to support Viamo’s activities on IHP / BA, including training project agents to use Viamo technology, working with stakeholders to create new content for the 321 service, and ensuring successful implementation of new technology platforms.

The Project Manager is a valuable member of the Nigeria team, and plays a key role in supporting the overall mission of Viamo.

Key Responsibilities : 1. Partner Management

1. Partner Management

  • Be the primary point of contact for JHU CCP and / or Palladium as determined by the Country Manager
  • Provide close assistance to these partners for the effective use of Viamo’s services in the domains of health, health system strengthening, and SBC
  • Monitor the implementation of the needs of these partners according to the project objectives
  • Inform clients of new services and product improvements
  • Solicit and document client feedback, including needs and expectations to inform the ongoing development of Viamo’s offerings
  • 2. Project Implementation

  • Help to establish annual work plans and quarterly / monthly deliverables for the Program under supervision of the Nigeria Country Manager
  • Monitor and contribute to the implementation of these work plans according to the established time lines
  • Facilitate trainings and 321content development / validation workshops
  • Supervise qualitative and quantitative research and other field activities
  • Contribute to Viamo Nigeria institutional knowledge by leading case studies, impact evaluations, etc. as needed
  • 3. Innovation and Service Development

  • Propose and pilot new service offerings to include in Viamo’s suite of ICT products
  • Provide input for the continued success of Viamo’s service offerings :
  • 3-2-1 Service, a mobile-phone based information service for the population
  • Clipboard, a mobile data collection platform for development and private sector organizations
  • Mobile surveys to gather feedback from project beneficiaries, collect data from nationally representative cohorts, and conduct field research
  • Document and share lessons learned and best practices with Viamo’s international team of program staff
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Viamo’s annual strategic Objectives
  • Successful candidates for this position will have :

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and coordinate, creating and implementing common project management tools like Gantt charts, budgets, timelines, workplans, etc
  • Proven ability to work independently, flexibility and willingness to adapt to new tasks as needed
  • Good common sense and ability to approach situations and challenges with a creative and open mind

  • Mastery of computers and mobile technology, including common software packages such as MS Office
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new software
  • Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in local languages desirable
  • Experience with behavior change communication is desirable
  • Health experience and prior experience with a USAID funded project a major plus
