there is a major bottleneck for improving the efficiency and the growth of our organisation. This new managerial position, reporting directly to the Technical Director, Participates in the implementation of the Continuous-

Improvement Program in the Business Unit which includes the support on coordination of the performance improvement plans (safety, quality, process, machine and costs) and Provides appropriate support to department managers in maintaining implementation of the continuous-

improvement initiatives within their respective sectors. In line with World Class Manufacturing practices from the Group.

Ensures that personnel from concerned departments receive appropriate training or coaching. Teach directly the lean techniques with minimal requirements of Problem Solving, 5S, Standard work, Performance Visual management, Kaizen week Resolves technical problems : e.

g., formulation, equipment, product, interpretation of regulations, resource availability. Implements performance indicators and establishes focus groups.

Manage directly one or two project / year with savings >

100 K euros. Analysing existing procedures and establishing the best possible operational procedures. Implementation of new operational processes / methods to optimise operational costs through impact study and cost analysis.

Preparing training system on specific maintenance topics (PLC, Robots, preventive maintenance system). Improving the working methodology, workforce planning, project management (best use of people, of equipment, of tooling).

Analysing repetitive technical issues resulting in machine inefficiency or stoppage for proposing solutions to the operational team with eventual implication of Etex Engineering.

Assisting the maintenance crew in preparing the annual shut down. Pre-study of any projects given to him by the Operation Manager for eventual proposal to the Regional Operation Director.

Executing delicate or complex projects with the local team. Coaching and training the local technicians on the new technology introduced in the company (PLC, Robots, Safety boxes).

Studying and proposing equipment for lowering the risks at work with aim to come closer to safety EU requirement. Organizing the technical library The Continuous Improvement Manager will operate off the direct operations and will have time to do in-

depth analysis of any technical problems or issues brought to his attention by the TD. This new function will compensate for the fact that most managers are operating in emergency mode or as fire fighter and do not have or cannot take sufficient time for deep analysis of technical issues to defining the best possible practicable solution.

Qualifying Criteria Graduated engineer (electro-mechanical / industrial with strong automation knowledge) A university degree in electrical, mechanical or industrial chemical engineering, (BEng, MSc, MEng First hand experience in process or manufacturing industry where lean was implemented with a role of continuous improvement (factory based), production or maintenance.

Strong interest to combine a field technical engineering job with administrative follow-up and reporting tasks. The ambition to introduce and implement a Continuous Improvement process system.

Good basic technical background. Preferably 5 to 10 years with experience in manufacturing organisation or in maintenance management SAP exposure or experience will be an added advantage value Training on 5S or similar will be as well an added value.
