Job description

  • Execute all required Mechanical related engineering works covering the Scope of Work for all ILF Nigeria projects.
  • Responsible for information exchange between the Mechanical / Piping Team and all other Discipline Teams within the project at Senior Level and under supervision of the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
  • Responsible for all Concept, FEED, DED designs in Mechanical scope of work.
  • Follow-up of the project files and documentation, including maintaining the standard project files structure on server / SharePoint.
  • Responsible to implement at its level all required measures to ensure quality at source.
  • Without direct supervision is responsible for the execution of a significant piece of design engineering work. When necessary, supervise more junior engineers within the same area of responsibility.
  • Must be familiar with relevant industry codes and standards, design specifications, and practices.
  • Capable of representing ILF and engaging clients in own capacity showing high level of skill and expertise in addressing client concerns, under Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager guidance.
  • Ensure ease of constructability is considered in all Mechanical technical solutions / deliverables.
  • Able to perform Detailed Design for gas compressor, air compressor, air cooler, vessels HVAC and overhead cranes.
  • Responsible for the design, specification, selection, and services relating to rotating machinery including gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, pumps, and packaged equipment.
  • Able to perform material selection.
  • Ability to use relevant software for Mechanical (PV Elite, Heat Exchangers). Advanced level of understanding of design calculations and result interpretation.
  • Ability to take low to medium level decisions on project deliverables (in agreement with Lead Mechanical Engineer) and to early identify project basic scope deviations and potential delays in execution and to recommend mitigation measures to compensate.
  • The employee will be responsible for implementing the mitigation measures after approval from Lead Engineer of Engineering Manager.

  • Identify and report to Project Manager / Engineering Manager all events, requests, which are not compliant with the project scope of work.
  • Participate in weekly engineering meetings, based on project requirements.
  • Establish a working atmosphere of mutual respect with other departments and engineers within the team and company.
  • High level of self-organization and basic leadership skills required.
  • Qualification

    Professional Expertise and experience in Engineering field of knowledge in Oil and Gas Engineering Consulting sector.

    Minimum of nine (9)years Post NYSE experience relevant to Oil and Gas Engineering consulting experience.

    Good to excellent knowledge of gas compressor, air compressor, air cooler, tanks, vessels HVAC and overhead cranes.

    Competent in Rotating Equipment Engineering activities for projects, from initial concept definition phase through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.

    Construction and site supervision experience is a welcomed advantage.This role is not a Construction management role.

    Candidate must have minimum 85% competency is use of AutoCAD, PV Elite Heat Exchangers.

    Knowledge of PDMS is a welcomed advantage.

    Candidate will work in Lagos and shall also work in other parts of Nigeria as well as internationally should it be required.

    Minimum BSC / HND / B.ENG Education in Mechanical Engineering. A masters degree in Mechanical Engineering is a welcomed advantage.

    Ability to work in a multi-disciplined, highly structured, multi-cultural business environment is essential.

    Candidate must have good English proficiency and able to work in teams.
