Job Title : Chief Financial Officer Pharmaceutical Retail Chain

Location : Lagos Nigeria

Division : Finance

About Company : Our client is a leading Pharmaceutical Retail Chain in Nigeria with over 75+ retail outlets nationwide and over 650 employees.

The Company is currently seeking to hire a highly skilled data driven CFO to help drive the continued success and growth of the business in partnership with the CEO.

The CFO will be responsible for providing the business and its board sound financial advice to achieve and deliver on the organisations short and long term financial goal.

Job Summary : The CFO will have full responsibility for managing the finance function, along with working in a partnership with the CEO to develop, deliver and evaluate the overall strategy for the business.

By maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, the role will be a valued contributor to executive-level strategy through the preparation of detailed and insightful performance analysis, forecasting, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, FCCA, ACMA), preferably chartered and ideally with experience as an autonomous CFO and number one in finance.

The preferred candidate will need to be operationally and commercially focused and have a good understanding of the pharmaceutical or retail market in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare a corporate strategy and annual business plan to ensure that the company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible

Manage the finance team efficiently and aid in development

Work with the CEO on the strategic vision including forecasting and cultivating stakeholder relationships

Participating and developing new business opportunities for the organisation. Ensuring that adequate controls are installed and maintained

Provide the COO with an operating budget and working closely to ensure pragmatic success

Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal activities for the organisation including revenue / expense and balance sheet reports

Overseeing all purchasing and payroll activity for staff and participants

Monitor banking activities of the organisation

Oversee the production of monthly reports as well as financial statements and cash flow projections

Review and monitoring of the organisation tax position, calculations and filings

Key Requirements

A university degree in Accounting

Must be a qualified and chartered accountant preferably (ACA, FCCA, ACMA)

Must have a minimum of 10+ years relevant work experience of which 5 years must have been on Executive level

Work experience in any of the big 4 either locally or internationally is a plus (PWC, Accenture, E&Y, KPMG, Deloitte).

Strong knowledge of IFRS and relevant accounting principles is a must

Previous experience with the implementation of financial systems and controls is required.

Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting

Notable P & L and balance sheet analysis skill

Excellent People Management skills

Excellent communication and presentation skill

Strong negotiation and analytical skill.
