Businesses must protect their balance sheets from uninsured, unbudgeted and out-of-pocket expenses associated with environmental cleanup obligations , potential long-tail liability, toxic tort claims, third-party liability (bodily injury / property damage) and / or legal defense costs stemming from a wide range of environmental exposures.
We are looking for a M anager that will be responsible for the effective management of the Oil and Gas unit for the realization of organizational goals, by ensuring the optimal utilization of resources allocated to the department in order to grow clientele base and service clients professionally .
The Manager will be an expert in all aspects of Oil and Gas , and will be colloquially referred to as the Go To person with knowledge / experience of Oil and Gas matters.
The main responsabilities of the role are :
To design individual prospect sales strategies;
To leverage knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry and the products and services that WTW have to offer
To maintain consistent / high quality touch points by phone and face to face with clients;
To support the Management team in identifying new opportunities;
To Identify prospects for business from existing and prospective clients;
To develop new relationships with individuals responsible for insurance and risk management decisions;
To apply working knowledge of principles and methods of selling products, services and value propositions, sales marketing strategies and tactics, technical knowledge and value propositions, pipeline management and cross-selling
The role requires cross-functional working with Client Servicing Teams , namely Placement Broking and Client Executives.
The Manager should be able to communicate the changing business objectives of these Departments to the Oil and Gas Team and other teams as required.
Role objectives : Business Development
Actively identify opportunities to work with colleagues across the WTW business to capitalize on account penetration and cross selling opportunities;
Maintain a detailed knowledge of the unit’s products, together with a good understanding of products offered across the wider WTW Group;
Ensure that full and accurate details of contact with and development of allocated prospects are entered and updated on WTW CRM systems;
Initiate contact and build relationships with allocated prospects in order to create and convert sales opportunities
To advise Top Management on strategies that can promote the clientele base of the Company, as to retain her position as a foremost brand in broking business.
To co-ordinate the unit staff in packaging insurance policies / products for clients based on sound technical knowledge of insurance business and environmental information
To handle some underwriting, depending on the clients’ profile and the nature of client business.
To ensure meetings are arranged with clients as appropriate and that action points of the meeting are well captured and generated within 24 hours after the meeting
Attending meetings with insurers and the insured.
To review and countersign the action points to be sent to insurers / clients.
To ensure minutes for meetings are well written and passed to the Senior Manager for possible inputs.
To ensure that clients receive minutes within five (5) days commencing from the date of meeting.
To verify and countersign Letters in respect of underwriting originating from the unit.
To ensure verified and countersigned letters from the unit are placed in the float for Senior Managers’ information and possible comment and advice.
To be responsible for all letters in respect of underwriting originating from your unit.
To ensure policy documents are reviewed, detrimental clauses / wordings identified and resolved as soon as possible wordings.
To ensure that risks are placed with underwriters in accordance with the company policy.
To always ensure the collation of all clients whose policies would fall due for renewal within the next 3 months and thereafter request for status position at the end of every month.
To remind clients of programme due for renewal three months in advance of anniversary date. Revised pre-renewal register to accompany the reminder letter for corporate clients.
To review Renewals falling due with staff during your unit’s weekly meeting.
To supervise the review of clients’ portfolio including outstanding claims, claims experience and terms, prior to the renewal meeting.
To arrange meetings with Clients, to discuss policies and projections for the next year, including renewal terms, Claims Returns and Claims Experience.
To co-ordinate the remarketing (re-negotiation of terms) of clients’ policies in the unit as necessary.
To monitor and facilitate the processing of claims of clients being handled by your unit.
To review monthly outstanding claim returns with Account Executives.
To review insurers claims assessment.
To supervise Reconciliation of clients’ Account as necessary.
To approve issuance of credit note and seek approval as necessary.
To review Insurance Registers, Claims Experiences, Claims Returns and Claims Assessments prepared by the account handlers.
Risk Management Surveys :
To monitor compliance with the recommendations made on survey report.To carry out periodic audit of existing clients’ insurance portfolio.
To supervise the training of New Colleagues / Clients’ Insurance Officers
Management of Oil and Gas unit colleagues as follows :
Ensure proper induction of colleagues in the Oil and Gas unit;
Open up their career path to them and ensure its management in conjunction with Human resources department / function;
Motivate colleagues for optimum performance and retention;
Identification of training needs of colleagues based on competency framework and ensure gaps are filled appropriately with training and developmental programmes
Support the overall operational governance and decision-making process for the unit
Support management and the wider Company in the management of risks applicable to areas of any other duties commensurate with position or level of responsibility
Maintain relevant qualifications required for the role
Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Degree will be added advantage
ACII / AIIN
Knowledge / Experience :
Advanced knowledge of Energy, Power Generation, Oil, Gas, industry;
At least 10 industry experience;
Experience negotiating program structures, terms and conditions;
Strong knowledge of underwriting techniques and local legislations / regulations;
Possess knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
Strong negotiation skills
