The Web Developer will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying cutting edge website solutions while delivering the best user experience across our digital properties by designing user-facing applications that make user experience appealing.

Responsibilities :

Create and implement new visual and interactive web designs

Optimize existing user interface design in line with improving our KPIs

Test for intuition and experience

Conduct ongoing user research

Design new user-facing applications and features

Collaborate with the Product Manager to ensure the technical feasibility of UI / UX designs

Create / maintain documentation on the new and existing web features

Experiment with design-oriented methods to grow our online community from 600k to 2mn people e.g homepage redesigns

Maintain the website and design innovative ways to increase engagement

Requirements :

Has the ability to live and work in Lagos, Nigeria

Has 3 years or more experience in Web / UI-UX / digital design

Has a design portfolio

Has Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Has the ability to discuss and explain design options

Is detail-oriented

Is a critical thinker

Is a problem solver and creative

Has a good knowledge of Adobe range of products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver

Has 2-3 years of experience with HTML5 / CSS3 / Wordpress and knowledge about best practices for preparing digital assets for web development

Awareness of UI / UX design

Has a can-do attitude and is flexible enough to take on any task we throw at them

Is passionate, hungry and eager to build SLA into a world-class institution

Has high professional and ethical standards i.e. understands that there’s no such thing as African time you’re just late

Is comfortable taking and giving feedback

Has a good sense of humor because we’ll be working hard so we better keep each other entertained

Is comfortable working in a startup environment where we’re making the rules up as we go along.

Commitment :

  • Full time position
  • Hours of work :

  • 50 hours per week, usual working hours are from 9 : 00am - 6 : 00pm WAT .
  • There will be a requirement from time to time to start work earlier or finish later as the role
  • dictates.
