Senior Nutrition Officer Location : Borno State base in Maiduguri with 80% travel & work at all FSL project sites Purpose of position Under the supervision of the Food Security Project Manager (National), the Senior Nutrition Officer is responsible for the management of INTERSOS’s WFP Nutrition program, which include the INTERSOS Nutrition staff, project activities and project client / beneficiaries.

S / he will provide technical advice on WFP Nutrition project implementation, designing, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation, data collection and analysis, progress reporting, enhancing team work and capacity building in context with WFP BSF programme.

Key expected results Coordination of all nutrition related field work, including community mobilization, beneficiary identification / registration, distributions, referral, nutrition case management and monitoring.

Coordination of nutrition commodities distribution procedures, including documentation, approval and actual distribution with the field officer Accurate, complete and up-

to-date information made available for effective nutrition program implementation, provision of technical assistance as well as supportive monitoring and evaluation.

Presentation of monthly nutrition project updates Development of Nutrition-Specific value adding activities in the community.

Ensuring Project efficiency and effectiveness is enhanced through effective implementation of nutrition program activity.

Ensuring appropriate and complete financial and supply documentation as well as adherence to established allotments ensured including CPDR / FRN / Waybills Preparation of the weekly, monthly and quarter nutrition project progress report and project work plans Maintains accurate, complete, and organized confidential records as required Effective technical assistance provided in the identification of required supplies and equipment and in the contribution to drafting of country program recommendation and other project documentation with respect to nutrition programming Provision of technical program support to CMAM, OTP and BSFP program components within the community including ensuring awareness sessions and training including modules.

Ensuring effective monitoring and project implementation by field staff through establishing close working relationships, and lines of supervision as well as contributing to maintaining relationships with field location stakeholders.

Ensuring effective communication with other partners and maintaining collaboration Coordinates the orientation of all new project staff.

Training of nutrition staff including nutrition assistants, community nutrition mobilizers especially on nutrition case management, Mother Support Group, Healthy feeding and utilization of all essential monitoring tools And any other duties assigned by the Food Security Project Manager Minimum requirements First level university degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas : Public Health and Nutrition, Health Sciences, International Health and Nutrition, Public Health and Nutrition Policy & Management, Family Health and Nutrition, Nutritional Epidemiology, Health and Nutrition Education, Health and Nutrition Promotion and Disease Prevention, Health Emergency Preparedness or other relevant disciplines Two (2) years of relevant professional work experience, especially in a developing country in public health and nutrition

Background :

familiarity with emergency Residence in Maiduguri (preferable) or in Borno State Good command of written & spoken English, Hausa or Kanuri languages Strong inter-

personal and team bulding skills and excellence as a team player Previous experience working on WFP projects Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office especially) Strong sense of responsibility, methodical and accurate with high organizational skill Honesty and integrity and able to cope with stressful situations Manages efficiently his own time as well as flexible and available to work overtime when needed Willing to be travel and work in any LGAs as per need
