    Hamilton Lloyd and Associates - Our client, a Healthcare company with a 5 star facility headquartered in Port Harcourt. Due to internal vacancies, they are looking to hire a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position below :

    Location : Port Harcourt, Rivers

    Job Summary

    The COO shall have the primary responsibility of leading the day-to-day operations of the business of the Corporation and its subsidiaries in accordance with the strategic plan and operating and capital budgets.

    The COO reports to the corporations’ Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ).

    Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, primary responsibilities of the COO are to :

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business of Corporation;Develop, in collaboration with the CEO and the Chief Financial Officer (the CEO ), an annual operating plan that supports the Corporations’ long term operations strategy;
  • Assist the CEO and the CFO in developing and overseeing the long term business strategies of the corporation;Assist the CEO in overseeing the corporation’s achievement and maintenance of a satisfactory competitive position within its industry;
  • Keep the CEO fully informed in a timely and candid manner of the conduct of the day-to-day operations of the corporations towards the achievement of its established goals and all of material deviations from the goals or objectives and policies established by Board;
  • With respect to operational matters, ensure communications, resolution of issues and project development;Ensure the development of health and safety practices for the corporations and oversee compliance with those practices;
  • Be available to brief the CEO on operational matters for review in advance of meetings of the Board;As requested by the Board, attend meetings of the Board and its Committees and present the information necessary or relevant to the Board or such Committee for discharging its duties;
  • Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus and servicing and encourages individual integrity;
  • Maintain a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting, retaining ad motivating a diverse group of top-

  • quality employees at all levels;Coordinate the sustainable strategy of the corporation;Assess and manage the principal risks of the corporation’s business within operation ( proposals, projects and staffing);
  • Ensure there is an effective succession plan in place for the COO position and other key executives of the corporation reporting to the COO;
  • Assist the CEO in establishing an appropriate organizational structure;Evaluate the performance of senior executives of the corporations reporting to the COO, andPerforming other functions related to the office of the COO or as may be request by the CEO or the Board;
  • Job Requirements

    Education : Minimum degree in any discipline and post graduate degree.Experience : Minimum 15 years + post graduate practice.

    Experience in Medical / Health administration is desired, but not compulsoryMBA is an added advantage.

    Job Summary

    The Litigation Lawyer shall come with active hands-on experience in cases done in various state and federal trial courts, including specialized courts, tribunals and appellate courts across NigeriaHe / she is expected to be comfortable in the areas of constitutional, commercial, shipping and aviation, oil and gas, trade, labour and industrial disputes etc.

    Litigation is the resolution of disputes falling in the corporate and commercial sectors, such as banking transactions, civil fraud, corporate governance, asset and venture capital projects, financial services regulation, mergers and acquisitions, share capital re-

    organizations and professional negligence.

    Job Responsibilities

    The candidate would be part of drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreementsHe / she would be actively involved in dispute resolution for companies, from both a commercial and legal perspectiveCandidate would be part of the initial case investigation / assessmentHe / she will be in charge of drafting pleas and motions on behalf of the plaintiff or defendant.

    As part of his responsibilities, candidate will be part of depositions and interogations. Candidate would also draft and argue discovery-

  • related motions including motions to compel, protective orders and summary judgment motions.Will consult with and advise clients;
  • retain expert witnesses; attend pre-trial conferences and develop a trial strategy based on the facts and evidence. Will also conduct pre-

    trial depositions of experts and key witnesses; prepare demonstrative to be used as trial exhibits; and draft and argue pre-

  • trial motions.Will collaborate with experts and clients to craft a trial theme, identify strengths and weaknesses in a case;
  • develop persuasive arguments; prepare witnesses for testimony and draft and argue trial motions.The candidate will be expected to present opening and closing statements, examine and cross-

    examine witnesses and craft a persuasive story for the fact-finder (judge or jury) through testimony and evidence. Litigation attorneys also prepare jury instructions and conduct post-

  • trial interviews of the jury.If a case is settled out of court, candidate should be able to engage in negotiations with opposing parties;
  • participate in mediations and settlement conferences with the parties and the judge; and create settlement brochures, agreements, releases and other settlement materials.

  • Candidate should be able to draft post-trial motions; identify and preserve issues for appeal; develop appellate strategies;
  • gather evidence for the appellate record; research procedural issues; draft appellate documents; and present oral arguments before appellate courts.

    If the case is particularly significant or complex, litigators may retain the assistance of attorneys who specialize in appellate practice.

    Any other responsibility as assigned by the Partners.

    Job Requirements

    Education : A Law Degree in from a reputable schoolA Second Class Upper Degree would be acceptable but a Masters degree is an added advantage.

    Experience : Minimum 6-8 years experience post call to bar.Candidate should have worked in an SAN firm consistently after NYSC.

    Candidate should have continuous experience in litigation.

    Job Competency :

    Good communication skillsExcellent mastery of oral and written English.Candidate should be able to work under pressure.Candidate should be able to work with no supervision.

    Attention to detail is a definite requirement.
