Responsible to lead, coordinate, review, and execute all required Instrumentation & Control related engineering works covering the Scope of Work for all projects executed by ILF Engineers Nigeria.

Coordinate Instrumentation & Control related engineering support for projects executed by ILF Engineers Nigeria with other engineering offices within the ILF Group.

Coordination of and guidance of reporting to the Project Manager.

Responsible for information exchange between the Instrumentation & Control Team and all other Discipline Teams within the project.

Organization, initiation, and follow-up of the project files and documentation, including maintaining the standard project files structure on server / SharePoint.

Responsible to oversee all documents before being issued for Interdisciplinary Check and before submission to Clients.

Responsible to implement all required measures to ensure quality at source.


Minimum of 12 year experience in Oil and Gas sector.

Minimum of 2 years in a Lead role in a project within the last 4 years of activity.

Must be familiar with relevant codes and standards, oil and gas industry design specifications and practices, and a thorough working knowledge of the latest design engineering and analytical techniques and software programs.

Capable of representing and engaging clients in own capacity showing the highest level of skill and expertise in addressing client concerns.

Ensure ease of constructability is considered in all Instrumentation & Control related technical solutions / deliverables.

Able to perform Concept, FEED, Detailed Design, and Fabrication Design, as applicable.

Ability to develop project specific engineering solutions without supervision in order to meet the project goals.

Ability to use relevant software for Instrumentation & Control engineering. Advanced level of understanding of design calculations and result interpretation.

Commissioning and start-up assistance is an advantage.

COREN Certification is an advantage.

Experience in both onshore and offshore design is an advantage.

Construction and site supervision experience is an advantage.

Able to perform functions of planning, organizing and coordinate efforts of team of engineers in own discipline.

Competent to distribute work and responsibilities to team members in its own discipline.

Proactive in engaging management on all relevant issues within a project and the company.

Ability to take decisions and to early identify project scope deviations and potential delays in execution and to introduce mitigation measures to compensate.

Early recognition, registration, and notification to Project Manager / Engineering Manager of non-contractual services.

Identify and report to Project Manager / Engineering Manager all events, requests, particularly in relation to possible contractual consequences.

Based on project requirements to organize and lead a weekly engineering meeting to plan and distribute work for the oncoming week.

Establish a working atmosphere of mutual respect with other departments and engineers within the team and company.

Highest level of self-organization and leadership. Able to delegate responsibilities to its Team.

Directly responsible for the performance of all Engineers within its Team.

Responsible to mentor all interns and young engineers.

Support HR and Engineering Manager in maintaining a core team of Instrumentation & Control Engineers.

Produce man-hour estimates for Instrumentation & Control related engineering to support the Business Development Department.


Minimum BSC or HND in Relevant Engineering. Discipline.


Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory.
